Great Hall
All plenary sessions of Assembly will take place here.
A loop system is available for those who have hearing difficulties.
Drinking water is available at various points.
The URC Information Desk is situated in the Foyer. URC
Stewards will deal with your queries, replace missing papers and name badges
and provide you with local information. They will act as the primary source
for giving and receiving messages. Tel: 01392 263739.

assistance with mobility needs.
The URC General Office is situated in the Northcote
Committee Room C. Enquiries relating to the business sessions or for the
platform party should be made here.

Bookstall and Displays will be found in the Lower
Examination Hall. The bookstall will be open:
Friday 12noon-8pm
Saturday 8.30am-8.30pm
Sunday 8.30am-8.30pm
Monday 8.30am-10.30am
Fairtrade and organic products are available in the
Lower Examination Hall. CWM Stamp Bureau Please note there will be no
collection of stamps this year. A Quiet Room is available in Devonshire
House, Exeter Room.
Light Refreshments Cash snacks are available all day
at the Balcony Bar in Devonshire House.
Ecumenical and Overseas Guests have the use of the
Senate Room throughout Assembly.
Licensed Bars /TV
Are available in Holland Hall & Clydesdale House each
day (from 9pm only).
General Facilities On Campus
Facilities at the University include a supermarket and
a Natwest bank with cash dispensers. These can be found in the shopping
precinct adjacent to and below the Great Hall. There are launderettes
available in the halls. You are advised to bring some cash for drinks and
other sundry items as individual room accounts cannot be set up.
Sports Facilities Most are available to delegates free
of charge. These include squash courts and outside tennis courts, which can
be booked at the Sports Centre Reception
The general opening times are: Monday-Friday 8am to
10pm Saturday and Sunday 9am to 6pm
A well-equipped gymnasium is also available for a
charge.
There is an outdoor swimming pool located at Cornwall
House, which is open from 9am to 8pm at a cost of £1.50 per session.
Registration
Check In At The Information Desk in the Great Hall
Foyer, on Friday afternoon. You will be registered, told where you will be
staying and given your name badge and any other necessary information. Your
room may not be ready for occupation until 3.00 pm, in which case your
luggage can be left in store until after the first plenary session. If your
room is ready, you should then make your way to the hall registration at
your accommodation, where you will receive your room key and, if you require
one, your parking permit, which must be displayed in your car whilst on
campus. Please note: If you are likely to arrive after 11 pm you must notify
the Assembly Office in London (020 7916 8647) by Wednesday, 5 July.
Accommodation will be located in Holland Hall, Hope
Hall, Pennsylvania Court and Nash Grove. All these rooms have en suite
bathrooms (sorry, no hairdryer) and are equipped with coffee/tea making
facilities and an internet connection. All rooms are non-smoking. In case of
emergency out of normal hours (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday) contact the
Security Office 73999 from the telephone in your bedroom or on your mobile
01392 263999.
Getting Around The Campus
The campus is fairly compact and manageable, though
rather hilly. Minibuses convey people from Hope Hall to the Great Hall from
8.30am until 9.30am and again from 9pm to 10pm.

The University has many measures in place to assist
those with disabilities. If you notify us of special needs, additional
information will be sent to you.

At The Close Of Assembly
Please note that all rooms must be vacated by 10am on
Monday, 10 July and baggage may be stored by arrangement in the Great Hall
foyer. At the close of Assembly the site needs to be vacated promptly at the
request of the University.
Emergency Services And Fire Procedures
For help in an emergency dial 73999 from the telephone
in your bedroom or 01392 263 999 from an outside phone or mobile. Visitors
are asked to familiarise themselves with the University's fire procedures
which are displayed in each bedroom.
On discovering a fire in other buildings:
Raise the alarm by breaking the glass in the nearest
Break Glass Point.
On hearing the continuous ringing of fire bells:
Stop what you are doing
Leave by the nearest Fire Exit
Walk calmly: do not run
Do not stop to collect personal belongings
Make your way to the nearest evacuation point,
standing well clear of the building.
Do not re-enter the building until told to do so by
the Fire Service or University Security Staff.
Medical Assistance
University staff are first aid trained and First Aid is available through
the URC Information Desk (Tel: 01392 263739). Visitors in need of emergency
assistance outside these hours should phone for an ambulance through the
normal 999 service or consult Security on internal extension 73999 from the
telephone in your bedroom or 01 392 263 999 from a mobile.
Reporting Incidents
In the unlikely event of an accident or other incident
occurring on University premises, please report immediately to Security on
73999 from the telephone in your bedroom or 01 392 263 999 from an outside
phone or a mobile. They will then take appropriate action.
